MY NAME IS … Rachel MacGregor
MY BRAND IS… Belo & Me
I LIVE IN… Bolton with hubby and 2 kids (Brodie 3.5 and Parker 18 months)
I FEEL MOST AT HOME… wherever my family are.
I AM A MUM AND… it is the best thing in the world. Don't get me wrong, it is so hard I think my head may explode sometimes but I wouldn't change my beautiful family for the world.
I love the book, You Are My I Love You by Maryann Cusimano. The words pretty much sum up being a mum for me!
I am your parent; you are my child. I am your quiet place; you are my wild.
I am your calm face; you are my giggle. I am your wait; you are my wiggle.
I am your carriage ride; you are my king. I am your push; you are my swing.
I am your audience; you are my clown. I am your London Bridge; you are my falling down.
I am your carrot sticks; you are my licorice. I am your dandelion; you are my first wish.
I am your water wings; you are my deep. I am your open arms; you are my running leap.
I am your home; you are my new path. I am your dry towel; you are my wet bath.
I am your dinner; you are my chocolate cake. I am your bedtime; you are my wide awake.
I am your finish line; you are my race. I am your praying hands; you are my saying grace.
I am your favorite book; you are my new lines. I am your night-light; you are my starshine.
I am your lullaby; you are my peekaboo. I am your goodnight kiss; you are my I love you.”
THINGS THAT KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT…...maybe thinking about something Belo, but mostly Parker. He is NOT a great sleeper, I don't think I know what a full night’s sleep feels like anymore!
WHEN I GREW UP I WANTED TO BE… Happy! And I most definitely am!
MY FIRST STEPS TAKEN TO START MY BRAND WERE......Belo + Me started out as something completely different. But as time passed and along came the kids I realised where the brand should be heading when I found a gap in the baby and toddler market! As I was in the new baby bubble it became apparent I needed to leave my job to achieve a better work/life balance so I went for it with Belo + me, getting an office, hiring staff and developing our own products. Onwards and upwards!
THE HARDEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD IS…...the balancing act, when one thing is out of kilter, it impacts everything else. I think having everything perfectly in balance is the holy grail of parenting!
THIS KEEPS ME SANE......my best friend/marketing manager/Parkers Godmother! She is the person I turn to for everything work related or life related! She gets me 100% and knows what I am trying to say when I can’t get my words out!!
I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT (PHYSICAL OBJECT)......prosecco & chocolate! (And definitely my phone as it's my business hub!)
MY BIGGEST RISK......investing in my exciting new product range (currently in development!) and choosing to focus on own brand products! It's super scary, but so exciting too. I can't wait to reveal my new products!
MY BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT......setting up Belo. The business has really grown and our products have been really well received so I'm really grateful to our customers for that. My goal was to be able to support myself so I could leave work and I have definitely achieved that.
MY BEST PIECE OF ADVICE…...go with your gut and surround yourself with great people who understand what you're trying to achieve. Most of my business decisions I've made with a gut feeling (an educated one) but the final vote always goes with that!
AND LASTLY A PERSONAL ONE! I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS DIFFERENTLY IN MY LABOUR… They couldn't have been more different with my two kids!
...the first one with no idea what to expect....turned out to be a 72 hour labour! But we eventually got to meet our gorgeous Brodie.
...the second one – I should have gone to the hospital sooner! My little boy, Parker, was nearly born in the car! We were racing down the corridors to get to the delivery suite! It was a close call! The 2 couldn’t have been any different!
